At all levels of government, REALTORS® are constantly fighting and winning important legislative battles to protect our members’ profitability. Unfortunately, too few REALTORS® know it’s happening, and even fewer understand how these victories impact their bottom line. To help solve this problem, the ABR Governmental and Community Affairs Committee launched the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Captains Program.
Each brokerage office is asked to designate an RPAC Captain. This REALTOR® serves as a liaison between the Atlanta Board of REALTORS® and the brokerage office regarding legislative and political issues affecting real estate. RPAC Captains also serve as the chief fundraiser for RPAC at the office.
ABR provides training for RPAC Captains, including information and resources to be shared at sales meetings and in office newsletters, assistance with any programming or special event requests for the office, and recognition in Board communications throughout the year.
RPAC Captains should possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate effectively with their colleagues. If you have any questions or would like more information about becoming an RPAC Captain, please contact Governmental Affairs Director Robert Broome at robert@abr.org.
