There are 2 training requirements for new REALTOR® members of the Atlanta Board of REALTORS®.
Both training courses must be completed within six months upon completion of the application.
All new members must complete a one hour in-class Local Atlanta Board Training course given by the Atlanta Board of REALTORS® and a New Member Code of Ethics Orientation. Both must be completed within 6 months of submitting your application to the Board in order to start counting your Multi-Million Dollar Sales Club sales credit from the date your application was received in the Board office.
The following are two options you have to complete both of these training sessions:
- Attend a three hour in-class Orientation session, which is offered bi-monthly at the Atlanta Board of REALTORS®' offices. This course will provide you with 3 hours of Continuing Education credit and fulfill both your local training and New Member Code of Ethics Orientation requirements all at once;
-
OR, you may choose to attend the 1st hour only of the course above to complete the local training and then take the National Association of REALTORS®' New Member Code of Ethics Orientation online at www.realtor.org (Click on the "Education" header, then "Code of Ethics Training" link and finally "Training for New Members" link). Please note that this option does not provide you with continuing education credit. For this option, you will still register for a full in-class orientation session on the right, but will simply notify staff at the first break that you will not remain for the entire session.
If you are currently a member of another REALTOR® Association or have held membership in the past with the Atlanta Board of REALTORS® and you have already attended a new member orientation course, then you do not need to attend the New Member Code of Ethics Orientation course again nor the Local Atlanta Board Training. You must submit proof of your New Member Orientation completion from your previous or current REALTOR® association in order to bypass attendance at either of these training sessions. They may email proof to Mendalyn Harper, Mendalyn@abr.org, or via fax, 404-732-0638.
